1st Cold Trip

This past weekend I went on a scouting trip through the Adirondack Park primarily researching potential canoe camping trips for next summer.  In addition we researched two potential winter camping locations.  While primarily a car camping trip we tented overnight at Horseshoe Lake.  The temperatures overnight in Saranac Lake reached 19 degrees.  I brought my summer sleeping bag, a Western Mountaineering Caribou conservatively rated at 35 degrees, and a Design Salt silk liner – theoritically rated at 9 degrees. Despite the cold I was chilled but slept warm.  However, future camping trips will see me bringing my winter camping sleeping bag.
