i've enjoyed trolling around your site-- so comprehensive! so now i seek your advice: i live in nyc and a friend and i want to go camping somewhere upstate mid-december for a couple days. the only problem is, the state parks around here (palisades, long island, hudson river valley) all seem to be closed already. do you know of any other places we could look? private campgrounds? places where we could go and not be bothered? unfortunately, we can't go all the way up to the adirondacks because we don't have that much time. any info would be greatly appreciated! thanks.
