Wild Snow, Lou Dawson’s Backcountry Skiing Blog has a report on their Snow Camping 101 – Denali Training. They had practical, hand-on use and evaluation of Black Diamond Megamid Pyramid Tent, a Hilleberg Nammatj 3 tent, The North Face Himalayan parkas and a Big Agnes Cyclone lightweight chair kit in extremely cold temperatures.

REI has posted an extensive Winter/Snow Camping Checklist.  Not every person will bring every item on every trip, but if you are formulating your own list you might look here for ideas.

OutdoorsMagic has a post explaining how to speed up melting snow and ice when you’re winter camping. Basically start with  water in the bottom of the pan then add snow to it. Keep the lid on the pot for maximum efficiency.
