Additional reasons to go winter camping

Many destinations, especially back country destinations, are more easily accessible in the winter.  Many of these places are exceedingly beautiful in the winter, even more so than popular front-country spots.

The best camping experiences are secluded, letting you get away from people. The feeling of being the only person around  is something everyone should get at least once in a life time.

Winter camping makes one concentrate on essential items – your food, your shelter, your clothing to keep you staying dry and warm,  It’s amazing how little you actually need to live and be comfortable, and many outdoors people consider such experiences to be reminders and grounding for what’s truly important in life.
