Over at Snowshoe Magazine Matthew Timothy Bradley has written an informative article on the Morphology of Snowshoes describing the shape, form, external structure and classification of types of snowshoes.  He describes the particulars of the frame and crossbars.  He describes snowshoe styles including: Elbow, Bearpaw, Modified Bearpaw, Green Mountain, Huron, Ojibwe, Alaskan, and Montagnais.
